100 millionth COVID-19 vaccine administered

On March 20, the 100 millionth COVID-19 vaccine was administered in the U.S., reaching #President Biden#’s goal of administering 100 million doses of vaccines in his first 100 days over a month early. Additionally, the 7-day average of 2.5 million doses administered per day between March 12-18 set a new record pace.

As of March 19:

- Over 65% of people age 65+ have received at least one shot & 36% are fully vaccinated

- Nearly doubled the amount of vaccine doses distributed to states

- More than doubled the number of shots administered per day

At the Virtual Munich Security Conference in February, President Biden announced an initial pledge of $2 billion to COVAX, the global vaccine initiative, and called on countries to work together to strengthen and reform the World Health Organization.
